(Telecompaper) Indian mobile operators Tata Teleservices, MTS, and Aircel are in talks for a three-way merger. There has been a fair amount of discussion between Tata Teleservices and MTS parent Sistema Shyam Teleservices, but talks with Aircel are very new, a source with knowledge of the matter told the Economic Times. Tata Teleservices and Aircel have been struggling to reduce their debts while Sistema is cash rich and would be the dominant shareholder in the combined entity. The three companies did not comment on the merger rumours.
