The Position This is an opportunity to take over and drive the development of modern system for satellite mission preparation. The OPEN Preparation Environment OPEN is supporting the preparation of tailoring data for European Ground Systems Common Core EGSCC based systems. Being a software framework, OPEN is meant to be the foundation of larger software products which are provided to end users, such as AIT engineers or operators. The OPEN framework was born from an ESA initiative to streamline and harmonise EGSCC based preparation environments for spacecraft and ground stations operations teams to manage tailoring data required to operate the data systems. OPEN can however do much further and answer needs for all EGSCCbased system users. For further information see httpswww.esa.intEnablingSupportOperationsgseOPEN The framework is used as the baseline for a number of other systems such as OPENCC and OPENMS. We are looking for a handson project manager and technical lead, who can drive the maturity of the OPEN framework, engage with the client to identify the evolving needs, and communicate the needs with the agile teams. The current activities are focused on consolidating, maturing and documenting the existing OPEN code base, in preparation for further enhancements. The main technologies are Eclipse RCP and Java. In addition, a solid knowledge of the Eclipse Modelling Framework EMF and the EGSCC system is desirable. But first and foremost you must be interested in thinking and being creative!
