Ajilon Technology Aerospace is looking for a Technology Harmonisation Engineer E3 for an opportunity at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands Ajilon Technology Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Ajilon is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 100 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. The professional will provide support to one or more of the following areas Product Development GSTP Programme Division, Technology Strategy TRP Programme Division, Technology Transfer Programme office, New Member States NMS and Cooperating States Initiative PECSOffice General tasks to be performed The workpackage covers the support to the Management and Implementation of the mentioned ProgrammesInitiatives and their contribution to the overall formulation and monitoring of the Agencys RD efforts. As such it includes support to the following main tasks Evaluation of proposals for technology RD activities on their technical merit, consistency and defined priorities. Preparation of the planning of the TRP, GSTP, NMS and PECS programmeinitiative and of inflight demo opportunities in close collaboration with representatives from technical support and programme departments. Monitoring of the implementation of the programmes and of activities, as appropriate, and provision of management information as required. This also to pursue consistency with the Technology EndtoEnd process and procedures. Monitoring of the consistency of the various ProgrammesInitiatives with respect to other ongoing technology programmes and defined industrial policy objectives. Followup and monitoring the conduction of concerted technology actions, mainly linked to TRP and GSTP programmes. Evaluation of the results and preparation of periodic overview publications. Operation of the associated management information tools and system databases. Support to the Harmonization process implementation and monitoring also through the utilisation of dedicated IT tools, and contributing to their continuous improvement. Supporting the initial evaluation of the technical and financial possibilities to transfer andor commercialize technologies identified in dedicated work packages relating to commercial evaluation as an outcome of ESA technology development contracts especially those resulting from TRPGSTP funding and ensuring that the Technology. Specific Tasks Managing of the Technology Harmonisation process according to agreed procedures and in interaction with ESA Programmes, Technical Domain Leaders, Member States and industry. Monitoring the implementation of roadmaps of harmonised technologies and providing relevant keyperformance indicators. Establishing the European Space Technology Master Plan and maintaining data base of Member States capabilities and aspirations. Maintaining data base of industrial capabilities consistent with harmonisation dossiers and roadmaps and coordinated with other users at system and discipline level. Supporting coordination of activities related to Critical Space Technologies for European NonDependence. Supporting industry observatory with RES and TECQ. Interfacing with EU EC for technology related matters, coordinating support to EU technology programmes. Maintaining awareness of relevant EU developments, including developments in related nonspace areas Coordination of Critical Space Technologies for European NonDependence and supporting for technology matters the identification of future cooperation with EU. Initiating internal and external studies as required supporting the harmonisation process and other tasks of the Section. Supporting other technology tasks of the Division and Department such as the endtoend process for technology development. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required A Masters degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or similar technology related discipline. A background in a range of technologies relevant to space and experience in space projects and technology development. Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary technical and institutional environment. Easy contact with personnel and well balanced autonomy in the execution of the requested tasks. Rigor, commitment and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks and capacity to identify priority actions. Familiarity with electronics office automation tools e.g. Microsoft Office suite, including Access and techniques, electronic mailing, customised databases, and ideally, familiarity with ESA corporate tools. Experience working with the European Commission andor on EU projects would be a definite asset, as there will be a special focus for the post holder on supporting those activities related to the interface with the European Union About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of spacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator LSS, acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multiaxis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL.
