If former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg mounts a third party candidacy and wins a single Electoral College vote, the billionaire will have outpaced Ross Perot, Ralph Nader and achieved something not accomplished in almost 50 years. Not since 1968 when segregationist Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace won 46 electoral votes has a candidate outside the Republican and Democratic parties earned an Electoral College vote.
