Tele2 Netherlands picks suppliers for 4G network

2013-09-05 09:37:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Tele2 announced it has selected equipment suppliers for its 4G network in the Netherlands. Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) will supply the radio network, Huawei will provide the network core and Mavenir Systems was selected for IMS equipment. Tele2 earlier signed an agreement with T-Mobile to share antenna sites, helping it accelerate the network roll-out. It also has a network access deal with T-Mobile to offer 2G and 3G services. The operator said it has already started building the network locations and placed purchase orders with the equipment providers, but it did not provide a targeted launch date for services over the network. Tele2 said the Dutch network is based on criteria exceeding Tele2 Sweden's "best in class" 4G network, thus paving the way for a highly competitive network in the Netherlands.
