(Telecompaper) Tele2 and Telia said they agreed to accelerate the transition from 3G to 4G by gradually phasing out the 3G network in their Swedish network joint venture Sunab. At present, the 3G network has over 6,000 base stations, and these will gradually be phased out or reused in other network expansions, which will result in cost and energy savings.
