(Telecompaper) Eight interested parties submitted non-binding bids for the takeover of Telekom Slovenije by the set deadline. The highest bid did not come from Deutsche Telekom, but rather from financial funds, reports Dnevnik and Finance.si. Bids for the purchase of the Slovenian national telecommunications operator were submitted by Russia's MTS, Turkcell and Deutsche Telekom, as well as by financial funds Apollo Global Management, Cinven, CVC Capital Partners, PPF Group, Apax, Bain Capital and Providence Equity Partners. The interested parties should start an in-depth review of Telekom Slovenije this week, while the strategic investor should be selected by the autumn. Bain Capital and Providence Equity Partners, according to Finance, allegedly submitted the highest bid of EUR 150-160 per share, while Deutsche Telekom offered EUR 140. The Slovenian government targets a price around EUR 200, according to the papers. The final binding bids should be submitted by the second half of July.
