(Telecompaper) South Africa operator Telkom has appointed Sipho Maseko as its new CEO, replacing outgoing CEO Nombulelo Moholi who announced her resignation in November 2012. Maseko will take over from Moholi on 01 April. Maseko was the former Vodacom COO, and before joining Vodacom served as CEO of BP Southern Africa. Maseko holds a BA LLB from the University of Natal. Telkom also announced that it is appointing Brian Armstrong as Group COO. Telkom chairman Jabu Mabuza said the appointment of a seasoned executive with telecommunications experience is another building block in Telkom's turnaround process.
