The state of Texas has long been the center of energy activities in the United States, with Houston being the undisputed oil and gas capital. Less well-known is that Texas is also the largest electricity generating and consuming state by a considerable margin. So it was significant when ERCOT, the electricity reliability council of Texas, selected Ventyx, an ABB company, to replace its zonal electricity market with a significantly more advanced nodal market.
