On May 14, Kansas City Southern issued a business update in which it withdrew its 2015 revenue and business volume guidance. It cited as reasons that: Q2 to date revenue and carload growth was well behind Q1 trends; key U.S. economic indicators have deteriorated since late 2014; and it faced a challenging rail volume environment in Q2.
