The Wall Street Journal: Samsonite close to deal for luxury luggage maker Tumi

Samsonite International SA is nearing a deal to buy luxury luggage maker Tumi Holdings Inc., according to people familiar with the matter. Exact terms of a deal couldn't be learned, but with a typical premium and given its market value of $1.4 billion, the takeover could value Tumi at close to $2 billion.
