We are looking for a Thermal System EngineerThermal Control E3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 115 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. General tasks to be performed Provide support to the Agency in the thermal engineering design, analysis and verification area related to the sections thermal control activities. Provide support to ESA projects, including CDF activities, interface with the project team, interface if requested with the industrial team, participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested by project work, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and discussions. Support the thermal control activities project support and RD activities of the Section in the area of hisher specialization. Build geometrical and thermal models, perform relevant analyses, evaluate critically the results and issue relevant documentation covering all work performed. Support the maintenance and upgrading of thermal mathematical models. Support thermal verification test campaigns for ongoing ESA projects by performingreviewing test procedures, test predictions and test correlations and attend the tests if required. Support ESA project reviews. Support European standardization activities. Make regular progress reports. Provide adequate documentation, covering all tasks above. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Master degree in relevant discipline Thermal Engineering or equivalent Very good background and experience in thermal modelling and analysis as well as thermal spacecraft design and verification. Heshe shall also have a very good background and knowledge of spacecraft system aspects. Heshe shall also have a very good background and experience with the Agencys thermal analysis tools, e.g. ESATANTMS About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of spacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator LSS, acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multiaxis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL.
