Nearly 4,000 middle and high school students are gearing up for the 2015 Team America Rocketry Challenge. This year, close to 700 teams are designing and building model rockets as they compete to qualify for national finals. Structured to emulate aerospace industry's engineering design process, TARC challenges teams to design and build model rocket that can travel to height of 800 ft and back within 46–48 sec. Each rocket will carry 1 raw egg that must return safely to ground undamaged.
