Time running out at Ontario County landfill

County taxpayers could see as much as a 30 percent tax increase if the Ontario County Landfill isn't approved for an expansion before the landfill fills up this spring, according to a supervisor close to landfill issues. "We are bumping up on a timeline," said Canandaigua City Supervisor David Baker, chairman of the county Environmental Quality Committee that oversees the landfill.
