Toyota's corporate 'pioneers' blaze the trail for its North Texas relocation

As Toyota Motor Corp. readies the company's new $350 million North American headquarters in Plano, the Japanese automaker's has sent in a group of "pioneers" who have begun setting up shop in North Texas. "This was a really good opportunity to take a fresh look in how we were organized," Julie Hamp , Toyota's group vice president and chief communications officer told the Dallas Business Journal Tuesday morning, while discussing the reasons behind the company's relocation and consolidation into northwest Plano.
