The depression is stationary, but it is expected to begin moving northward later today. Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Slow strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression could become a tropical storm later today. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1011 mb (29.86 inches).
