SUMMARY OF 800 PM PDT...0300 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...23.1N 122.9W ABOUT 825 MI...1330 KM W OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA CALIFORNIA MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...35 MPH...55 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...NW OR 305 DEGREES AT 17 MPH...28 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1005 MB...29.68 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Fausto was located near latitude 23.1 North, longitude 122.9 West. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h), and a gradual turn toward the west-northwest and west at a slower forward speed is anticipated over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Fausto is expected to degenerate into a remnant area of low pressure on Monday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
