DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 700 AM PST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Rick was located near latitude 17.8 North, longitude 118.5 West. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A turn toward the north-northwest and a decrease in forward speed are expected on Monday. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Rick is expected to become a remnant low later today.
