DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Hilary was located near latitude 12.7 North, longitude 102.3 West. Hilary is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this general motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected over the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Hilary is likely to become a hurricane on Monday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
