DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1000 PM CDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Hilary was located near latitude 11.5 North, longitude 100.2 West. Hilary is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h) and this general motion is expected to continue with a decrease in forward speed during the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Hilary could become a hurricane on Monday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
