DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kevin was located near latitude 20.2 North, longitude 115.8 West. Kevin is moving toward the north near 8 mph (13 km/h). A turn toward the northwest and west-northwest is expected over the next 48 hours along with a decrease in forward speed. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening should begin later today, and Kevin is expected to weaken to a tropical depression by Saturday. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
