DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kristy was located near latitude 16.9 North, longitude 130.1 West. Kristy is moving toward the north near 7 mph (11 km/h), and a turn toward the north-northeast is expected over the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is possible tonight or Friday, followed by gradual weakening. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km) from the center.
