DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Kristy was located near latitude 15.3 North, longitude 130.0 West. Kristy is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn toward the north is expected on Thursday, and a general northward motion is forecast to continue for a few days thereafter. Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, but gradual weakening should begin by Saturday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) east of the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
