DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Paulette was located near latitude 17.8 North, longitude 42.5 West. Paulette is moving toward the north-northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h). The storm is forecast to turn toward the northwest and move faster on Tuesday, and move west-northwestward or westward on Wednesday and Thursday. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the day or two, with little change in strength expected afterward through Thursday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
