DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 700 AM PST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Polo was located near latitude 16.3 North, longitude 116.0 West. Polo is moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue today, followed by a turn toward the west by Thursday. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected today, with gradual weakening anticipated to begin on Thursday. Polo should degenerate into a remnant low pressure area on Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
