DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 700 PM PST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Polo was located near latitude 16.9 North, longitude 118.3 West. Polo is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h). A turn toward the west is expected later tonight or on Thursday, with this motion continuing through Friday. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is expected to begin later tonight or on Thursday, and Polo is expected to decay to a remnant low pressure area on Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
