Interests along the southeastern and southern coast of Mexico should monitor the progress of Vicente. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Vicente was located near latitude 14.3 North, longitude 93.6 West. Vicente is moving toward the west near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this general track with a slight increase in forward speed is forecast during the next 36 to 48 hours. After that time, a turn to the northwest is anticipated. Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible during the next 48 hours. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- RAINFALL: Through Thursday morning, Vicente is expected to produce 3 to 6 inches of rain with local amounts to 10 inches across southwest Guatemala and the Pacific coast of southern Mexico.
