(Telecompaper) Twitter has agreed to acquire the mobile advertising group MoPub. Started three years ago, MoPub works as an ad server for mobile publishers and runs a real-time bidding exchange to acquire mobile ad space. It has nearly 100 employees worldwide and serves billions of ads each month. MoPub said its business will continue unchanged, and Twitter plans to invest in strengthening the core operations and developing native advertising. Twitter said it will use MoPub's technology to build real-time bidding into the Twitter ads platform. No financial details of the takeover were disclosed. A person with knowledge of the deal told the New York Times that the price exceeded USD 300 million.
