U.S. Announces Clean Air Act Settlement with Wisconsin Utility

According to settlement announced by U.S. EPA and U.S. Department of Justice, Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) will invest ~$300 million in pollution control technology, pay $1.2 million civil penalty, and spend $6 million on environmental mitigation projects to resolve Clean Air Act (CAA) violations. Settlement requires 2 power plants – Pulliam plant in Green Bay, WI and Weston plant in Rothschild, WI – to comply with emission rates and annual tonnage limitations.
