US apparel imports from China surged in February, from their low level last year. Chinese shipments actually remained far below their level two years earlier. Pakistan has fully benefited from the shift in US apparel sourcing, whereas other countries have experienced a setback. Our report covers US apparel imports every month, comparing shipments from most origins in the last month and the year-to-date. Import data are available in volume, value, and unit value terms. Historical trends are analyzed over the 2000-2021 period, including cotton vs. man-made fiber apparel, China vs. Vietnam, and the Rest of the World (RoW). [ more ]
