US apparel imports from Central America and the Dominican Republic have slowed down in the first quarter of 2019 whereas Haitian shipments were still surging, however from lower levels. Unit prices have soared in Honduras and Nicaragua, probably due to the rise of cotton prices in the last year. Thanks to their duty-free access, CAFTA-DR countries continue having a marketing niche in the US market with their knit shirts. as reflected by our series of tables and charts displaying a comprehensive view of the US apparel imports from Haiti and the CAFTA-DR (Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic) in the past five years.
