U.S. Apparel Imports in 2018: China vs. Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mexico and Honduras
2019-03-22 21:24:35| EmergingTextiles.com
US apparel imports from China have remained strong in the past year, as anticipations of higher US tariffs have boosted shipments and unit values have declined overall. By contrast, other Asian countries like Vietnam are obviously confronted with a rise of their production costs slowing down exports to the United States. Results have however been radically different, depending on product categories and origins. Our series of statistical tables offer a comprehensive comparison of volume, value and unit value changes per origin and product category in full 2018. The report also includes a detailed comparison of Chinese price trends vs other origins, through a series of indexes. Unit value changes in percentage terms and market shares per category and per origin are also released. Our full table is available for download.
