EcoWatch: U.S. wind energy output hit record levels last year, producing nearly 5 percent of the nations electricity, according to a new report from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA). Employment in the sector also rose 20 percent in 2015, with 88,000 workers now employed in wind energy across the U.S. More than 8,500 megawatts of wind capacity was installed last year, almost doubling the total from the year before.
