The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee is charged by the government with developing recommendations for the 2015 update of Dietary Guidelines for Americans. For the first time ever, that committee weighed the environmental impact of various foods in arriving at its recommendations. That has meat and food groups, as well as lawmakers, nervous.
