After roundly trouncing a new wage pact during the weekend, The United Auto Workers, Local 699, struck Nexteer, a major Detroit supplier of drivelines and steering parts. Nexteer, formerly owned by General Motors, is the property by Pacific Century Motors, a Chinese joint venture between Tempo Group of Beijing and an affiliate of the Beijing municipal government, said Automotive News this morning.
