URA board to vote on $20 million LERTA strategy to replace TIF plan for Hill District

The board of the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh is expected to vote on a tax-abatement plan for the 28-acre former Civic Arena site to serve as a new mechanism to provide funding to the greater Hill District . According to the directors report for the meeting, the URA plans to establish a Local Economic Revitalization Tax Abatement District, or LERTA, that would generate money for a reinvestment fund that would be used for the entirety of the Hill District .
