US regulator wants more details on Qantas and American Airlines alliance plans

Qantas and American Airlines are being forced to provide US regulators with detailed five-year revenue and capacity outlook on trans-Pacific routes and evidence their proposed joint venture can reduce fares as they seek approval for the expanded partnership. The deal has already received interim authorisation from the Australian competition regulator in July to assist American Airlines in launching new flights from Sydney to Los Angeles in December.
