By using Android Open Accessory protocol to make Android device recognize onboard USB port as RS-232 port, ANDROID-232 lets users control legacy RS-232 devices directly from Android devices and vice-versa. This industrial- and military-grade, 2-way data port supports serial data rate up to 921.6 kbps (max of 115.2 kbps without flow control), and onboard circuitry provides power to charge Android device while connected.
