(Telecompaper) Ukrainian regulator NKRZI has announced a tender for 3G licences under the UMTS standard. The regulator will provide three licences over 30 MHz bands, covering the 1,920-1,935/2,110-2,125 Hz, 1,950-1,965/2,140-2,155 Hz, 1,965-1,980/2,and 155-2,170 Hz frequencies. The services will be provided in all regions across the country for 15 years. Each license will cost at least UAH 2.7 billion. The UAH 1.601 billion worth of expenses associated with releasing the bands will be equally shared by the three contractors. Expenses will be attached to rate of inflation. The contractors will have to launch 3G services in regional centres within 18 months from obtaining the licence. They will have have 2-6 years to launch in all agglomerations of over 10,000 residents. Tender applications will be accepted from 15 December to 15 January, 2015.
