We are currently looking for a UVN Product Engineer to support our customer in Germany. UltravioletVisibleNearInfrared UVN Product Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Remote Sensing and Products Division, you will be involved in providing support to cover the development of calibration algorithms for the UVN mission on Meteosat Third Generation MTG. You will have the following responsibilities Development of algorithms for the calibration of UVN level 0 data Supporting the development of an Instrument Data Simulator Provision of support to the development of prototype software code for the purposes of testing and validation the algorithms developed Supporting the development of an instrument performance model based on specifications to be provided by industry Development of software for crosscalibration and validation activities Generation of test data required for the verification of the algorithm and products Provision of support to the generation of associated documentation including test data descriptions, Product Specification PS, technical reports etc Interfacing with experts across the company and collaborating with external expert groups and the wider scientific community Assessment of results from scientific studies Provision of support to operational level 2 processor development activities, for future level 2 product development for the UVN instrument. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline Solid experience in the field in remote sensing product data processing and analysis including as well as some experience in UVVisibleNIR calibration and validation Solid background in software engineering Familiarity with satellite instrument characteristics for Earth observation, in particular calibration and validation of moderate spectral resolution data in the UVVisibleNIR part of the spectrum Ability to write concise and comprehensive scientific and technical reports Experience in the specification, design and coding of complex product processors Experience in testing and verification of complex data processing systems Familiarity with handling and processing of remote sensing data Experience in atmospheric remote sensing in the optical spectrum Ultraviolet to Near Infrared Experience with instrument calibration and characterization Familiarity with Earth observation systems in operational meteorology, atmospheric composition and climate monitoring both remote sensing and in situ systems Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
