Under Armour taps former Nike exec to head footwear business

Peter Ruppe has become the sportswear maker's senior vice president of footwear, a role in which he will develop Under Armour's footwear strategy and drive commercialization of the brand's shoes. Ruppe's addition comes as Under Armour is working to grow its footwear segment larger than its apparel business, and its footwear sales have helped drive the brand's overall growth.
