Uniqlo parent Fast's profit rises 48%

The Japanese parent of the Uniqlo apparel chain said Thursday that profit rose 48% in the year through August, helped by strong sales in China, where the company says demand for its low-cost clothing has been unaffected by an economic slowdown. Fast Retailing Co.
