BusinessGreen: Rail season ticket prices rise by an average of 4.2 per cent from today, sparking protests at stations and drawing accusations that train travel is becoming an "extravagance" few business travellers and commuters can afford.
While overall ticket prices have risen by an above-inflation 3.9 per cent in England, Wales and Scotland, research by the Campaign for Better Transport suggests many season ticket prices have increased by more than 50 per cent in the past 10 years.
