The firm also lowered 2015 earnings estimates to $7.71 from $8.04 per share, with 2016 earnings estimates cut to $7.74 from $8.95 per share. "With progressively more challenging year over year comps, we expect negative United Rentals rental rates until second quarter of 2016, as energy softness impacts utilization and rental rates," Jefferies analysts said.
