TASKS As a member of the Computer and Storage Management team, the key person shall provide support to the development and maintenance of storage systems with special focus on archive and retrieval services. The duties include the administration and operation of the central archive systems, administration of backup and Unix systems, maintenance of the external storage, inventory and support to the operation of the storage and computing services. The key person shall perform the following tasks Monitoring of the facility services, computing, storage, backup and archive performance, investigation into HW and SW problems and performance of the relevant corrective actions Ensuring that in case of HW or SW failures the operational configuration can be restored, including the definition, maintenance, performance of backuparchive procedures Liaison with the external providers of HW and SW maintenance for the request and follow up of maintenance interventions Analysis, planning and performance of HW and SW upgrades or reconfigurations, taking care of compatibility issues between computing and storage subsystems Implementation and maintenance of scripts andor procedures where applicable for the automated andor controlled execution of the above activities, generation or update of associated technical documentation Provision of standbyoncall support Provision of support, as required, to critical operations. In the performance of these tasks, the key person shall apply the clients configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards, quality management procedures and maintenance procedures. The tasks assigned to the key person will be agreed through dedicated workpackages with clear identification of activities and outputs expected. PROFILE In addition to having a university degree or equivalent, the Key person shall have minimum of 3 years experience in the administration and troubleshooting of distributed storage and computing systems. The experience should have been made in an operational or production environment, characterized by custom applications in addition to standard software, running both on the client and server side, and by high availability requirements. Technical skills, experience knowledge Proven knowledge and handson experience with the following is mandatory Expert knowledge and a significant work experience in administration of Unix or Linux operating systems in highly available environments managed by cluster software Sun, Redhat, VMWare or equivalent Extensive experience in operating, maintaining and monitoring SAN environments, managing Brocade or equivalent switches, EMC or equivalent middle and enterprise storage arrays serving many different types of storage client platform via a virtual layer VPLEX or equivalent Good experience in operating, maintaining and monitoring Backup and recovery solutions Symantec NetBackup or equivalent Generation and maintenance of technical documentation in English Experience in the administration and troubleshooting on the following shall be considered as an advantage High end, automated, tape library systems StorageTek SL8500 series with ACSLS software including the archive solutions using Hierarchical Storage Management HSM system SAMFS or equivalent VTL and Data Deduplication technologies Setting up and maintaining security systems, on host, network and storage level e.g. firewalls, SSL, encryption SAN Fabric security TCPIP internetworking and the related network protocols and applications, e.g NIS, NFS, DNS, SNMP, FTP
