Demand for electric vehicles, and the lithium in their batteries, has driven a huge deal between Rockwood Holdings and Albemarle Corp. Rockwood Holdings has agreed to sell its lithium-production business to Albemarle Corp. for $6.2 billion, a sign of lithium batteries' growing importance in consumer products.
