PTC radio systems are part of a new technology that has been recently deployed and tested in the field. Information is still being gathered and analyzed in order to better understand how these PTC signals propagate and perform. The focus on PTC RF testing has been mostly on verifying that the coverage for each base station is similar to what the propagation software has predicted. This application note introduces and describes an improved PTC field testing methodology that promises to be more precise, time saving, and cost effective.
