VW Scrutinized for Reliance on German Privacy Laws in Withholding Documents

German automaker, Volkswagen AG, has recently drawn frustration from forty-eight state attorneys general and the U.S. Department of Justice for resisting cooperation with investigations into its recent emissions scandal. In September of 2015, Volkswagen came under fire for installing software in 11 million diesel automobiles worldwide that would underreport the vehicles' emissions.
