Valeant raises outlook after completing purchase of Salix

" Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. said Wednesday it turned a profit in the first quarter, and the Canadian drugmaker raised its forecasts for the year after completing more acquisitions. The company reported a profit of $73.7 million, or 21 cents per share, after it lost $22.6 million, or 7 cents per share, a year ago.
