The City of Vallejo Planning Commission held a “spirited” debate Monday night over an alcohol permit for the new Grocery Outlet store set to open downtown later this year. In a 5-0 vote - with commissioner Robert Schussel abstaining and vice-chair Marvin Kinney recusing himself - Grocery Outlet received approval to sale wine and beer at the store, located at 401 Marin St. The type 20 license - through the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control - allows for off-site consumption.
